One Step Ahead is a long term project on social entrepreneurship implemented within
the framework of the Erasmus + Program by European Commission (Key Action 2).
We created a consortium of four non-governmental organizations from the European
Union (Poland, Sweden) and Eastern Partnership (Georgia, Moldova) to discover new
methods and approaches as for how to  make our societies more inclusive and
empower young people at risk, helping them successfully design and run their own
social enterprises. Our aim is to increase professional capacities of participating NGOs
and young people themselves, by developing and giving them access to educational
tools and methodological approaches allowing them to open up social enterprises that
would contribute to sustainable development of their local communities and beyond.
The project is based on a set of international and local activities promoting social
entrepreneurship:
·         Kick-Off Training Course for youth workers (Poland, March 2019)
·         Field work in local communities (March-August 2019)
·         Seminar on social entrepreneurship for youth workers (Sweden, September 2019)
·         Youth Exchange for young people at risk (Georgia, October 2019)
·         Study visits and exploring successful social enterprises (Georgia, December 2019
and Poland, January 2020)
·         Final conference (Moldova, February 2020)
As a result of this project we will develop two documents that we see as our contribution
to promoting social entrepreneurship across Europe:
·         Tool Kit for youth workers and teachers that can be used as a methodological basis
for teaching social entrepreneurship among youngsters, both in formal and non-formal
settings
·         Policy Recommendations gathering ideas from social entrepreneurship practitioners
that will be distributed to the authorities and serve as a basis for discussions on
improving the country legislation
All the materials produced during the project will be available for free on our website –
we hope they will help you promote social entrepreneurship in your countries as well!
